Memories of a paper town unfolding with pop-up books and shadows.

A visitor from far away arrives at an empty construction site. He opens a pop-up book and creates a paper house and a village. With the shadows cast by the streetlights, he draws a picture of the neighbors who used to live there. He says hello to the village and people who have disappeared.

*Pop-up book exhibition for 1 hour before and 30 minutes after the performance. 

Pop-up Theater Elbowroom creates a performance where a story pops out of space. It records the beings around us who appear and disappear like pop-up books, such as the resurrection and disappearance of memories, urban redevelopment, and habitat and extinction of living things. It dreams of a play that lives well with the Earth's ecosystem.​
