About Program
‘0g’ depicts the process of discovering our lives in the repetitive acts of the mythical figure Sisyphus' inextricable fall and finding the true meaning of life in seemingly meaningless actions. Inspired by Sisyphus' continuous falling action itself, the physical principle of 'free fall movement' is used for movement. Applying this to various parts of the body, experimenting with extreme situations arising from dynamic movements derived from it, and making various attempts to overcome the limitations of gestures.
Artist
Founded in 2016 by choreographer Jeong Cheol-in, Melancholy Dance Company sees the world where we live as art, draws inspiration from it and creates works. Melancholy Dance Company believes that our life is art itself and strives to create works that many audiences can relate to and think about. In addition, with dynamic and sophisticated movements, Melancholy Dance Company tries to create awe and wonder that make imagination a reality by using a variety of expressions that present images with these movements piled up.
