About Program

Stranger visitors appear in their own shapes and dance in rows to the rhythm of familiar traditional instruments. Looking at each of them dancing their own dances, I wonder if it's okay to dance like this way. 'Nina NaeNa' is the Gyeongsang-do dialect of you and me. You, you, me, and us, respect each other's differences, and there is nothing wrong with dancing differently, and we open a NINANO that dances together and goes well together.

'You and I Ninano' is a work in which the aerial performance of Project Nalda and the maskers of the Cheonha Ilchul Workshop work together. Artists from different fields gathered to complete the ninano.

*Planning and production: Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, Seoul Street Arts Festival2023, The Greatest Masque, project NALDA

*Sponsor: Korean Culture and Arts Committee (The greatest masque: performance/a work selected for art mid- to long-term creation support)

Artist

The Greatest Masque is a Talchum (Korean Traditional Mask Dance) troupe whose goal is to connect with contemporary audiences through satire and humor, which are the ideals that Talchum is based on. The Talchum troupe creates platforms that showcase and further enhance the artistic values of traditional Talchum. The Greatest Masque also creates original Talchum works that deal with current topics, which is an on-going effort to meet with today’s audiences.

project NALDA is an art team that utilizes public space to fuse various genres. Development and creation focus on aerial performance, circus, performance technology, professional manpower, and space. Since 2010, the team has been invited to perform at prestigious domestic and international performance art festivals and local cultural festivals and has grown to become one of Korea's leading aerial arts organizations, appearing in the cultural performance at the opening ceremony of the Pyeongchang Paralympic Games in 2018. Representative works include Spiders, Magical Forest, Light Fly, All Bounce, and Haru.
